Lara Jean’s letter-writing days aren’t over in this surprise follow-up to the New York Always and Forever, Lara Jean (To All the Boys I've Loved Before, #3)Times bestselling To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before and P.S. I Still Love You. Lara Jean is having the best senior year a girl could ever hope for. She is head over heels in love with her boyfriend, Peter; her dad’s finally getting remarried to their next door neighbor, Ms. Rothschild; and Margot’s coming home for the summer just in time for the wedding. But change is looming on the horizon. And while Lara Jean is having fun and keeping busy helping plan her father’s wedding, she can’t ignore the big life decisions she has to make. Most pressingly, where she wants to go to college and what that means for her relationship with Peter. She watched her sister Margot go through these growing pains. Now Lara Jean’s the one who’ll be graduating high school and leaving for college and leaving her family-and possibly the boy she loves-behind. When your heart and your head are saying two different things, which one should you listen to?

My thoughts :

This is the last book of the To all the boys trilogy. You have to read the first two before starting this one.

This book kept me on my edge!!! Throughout the book I kept wondering whether Lara Jean and Peter Kavinsky are going to break up. I mean I was ready to break down and melt down into a puddle. Having read other Trilogies of Jenny Han, and remembering what a wreck it made me (I still feel sorry for Reeve Tabatsky from the Burn for Burn trilogy ;_( )

So while i was expecting the worst and was kinda prepared for it, I should say I loved this book. It didnt seem like a fitting  end to a series, the second book was more like it. But still, it felt like a nice long epilogue for what happens next in happily ever after.

It’s all about nostalgia, fear of the future and never leaving loved ones yet at the same time carving your niche!!

Kitty was and will always be my favorite of the Song Sisters, she is smart, witty, has great fashion sense and makes things funnier and happier.

Peter Kavinsky is bae and I loved the way he loves Lara Jean ❤ He is perfectly imperfect, a guy who learns to braid his girlfriend’s hair, who wants to surprise her in the sweetest ways possible but feels down when they turn out otherwise. ‘He is such a boy!”

I never like Margot and this book was the same for me, she is my least favorite Song sister. This journey of Lara Jean’s life is definitely a sweet, funny and cutesy story. And oh my god that ending!

My rating is ofcourse 5 stars 🙂

Last in the series..

2017 will be the year where many book series and TV series are coming to an end. *cringes*

You never know how to get out of that bubble once a series ends, and I for one, am very bad at it. I know you can re-read and binge-watch the series again n again. But still, the feeling of doom *eye rolls, i know* is inevitable. Here’s a look at the list of most anticipated books/TV series that bid goodbye this year.

To all the boys I loved Before by Jenny Han

This trilogy (hopefully) is coming to an end with the third book ‘Always and Forever, Lara Jean’ hitting the stores in May 2017. It’s a cheesy, cute high school romance novel that starts out with a teen writing letters for all her crushes but doesn’t send them. I’m a Peter-Lara shipper and i’m just praying that the final book doesn’t throw in a big bucket of water on-my-face by shipping John and Lara Jean. I know the terrible series endings of Jenny Han previously experienced in “Summer” trilogy and “Burn for Burn” trilogy. 😦

I fell for the book covers first ❤

ACOWAR by Sarah J Maas

The Vampire Diaries

I’ve been watching this all these years and it breaks my heart to bid goodbye to Stefan Salvatore, favorite-st TV boyfriend *shudders*. I know people go gaga over Damon, i do too. But Stefan is THE boyfriend i love, i adore, i would kill for *heart eyes*

I just hope they end the series with both the brothers alive.

The Originals

Omg, this one!!! Only for KLAUS!!! Still have to wait sooooo long for the next and final season to be aired in March. My husband and i just love KLAUS… There’s something deep about him that’s beyond words. Really angry with the show producers for finishing it off soo soon 😦

Mikaelson family, cant wait to see you!

Game of Thrones

Yes, this majestic and beyond brilliance series will be ending this year and with just 7 episodes. Why oh why!!

Highlight of last season was Sansa Stark meeting Jon Snow. *happy tears* And this season lets wait to see whether the Starks are getting back together. Go Arya!!!

Pretty Little Liars

I once loved this series and then they turned it round n round n round and i don’t know who killed who or who slept with who or who’s father is who 😛 Why can’t they just be honest and go to the police or their parents and save ourselves another murder.

But i still watch it 😀 just to know how things are gonna wrap up.

Mid year book round up

Just like that, time passed away and we are in Mid June.. 😕

I’m supposed to be in newly married bliss *cough* and I’m not sure how six months have gone by in this year. I blame my work 😐😐  So I took up a reading challenge and though not in a marathon I’m still managing to read few books here n there. I’m unable to do separate reviews on each of them – blame my office – so here’s all of them in a nutshell.

1. Those pricey Thakur Girls

This book by my favourite-st author was lying around untouched for more than a year in my bookshelf. I picked it up finally and wondered why I hadn’t read it before. There’s always something lively about Anuja Chauhan and this book was all that – summery, funny and good. I was dreaming about amaltas flowers for the first few days after I read it. I had to search in Instagram for them and once I saw what it was , I started dreaming about BJ’s house.

I read and re-read Dylan’s letter to Deb *dreamy-eyes* . This is such a oh-so-casual-funny-fluffy read that you should not ignore. I came across on the internet that there was a Tv series that’s based on the book. To say I was disappointed wouldn’t suffice. I was expecting a movie 😦 Just like I’ve been expecting Zoya Factor for years now 😛

2. To All the Boys I loved before – Jenny Han

Yes, I went back to being a teen and chose this book to read. I didn’t regret reading it but it did look like the targeted audience was 11-14 years. 😛 So I naturally got irritated at some point but then decided to continue, and loved way the main character Lara Jean sort of evolved throughout the book. More like a coming-of-age novel. Lara Jean writes letters to all the boys who she had a crush on, however small the period might be. She doesn’t send them but saves up in her little box. I kinda did this back then. Not love letters, but letters when I was angry… I scribble hard and crush the paper later in an attempt to forget whatever made me mad. So That’s what Lara Jean does here to forget about the boy or the reason why she liked him – until all the letters get sent out to the concerned person.

What follows next is confrontations, quarrels and ofcourse Love. Peter Kavinsky!! mmmmmm… Ok..moving on… 😉

When someone’s been gone for a long time, at first you save up all the things you want to tell them. You try to keep track of everything in your head. But it’s like trying to hold on to a fistful of sand: all the little bits slip out of your hands and then you’re just clutching air and grit. Because by the time, you finally see each other you’re catching up only on all the big things, because its too much bother to tell about the little things. But the little things are what make up life.

This was my favorite one from the book and the one which made me think for a long time. People in a long distance relationship would totally understand it.

3. P.S. I still love you – Jenny Han

Jenny Han left us all hanging with the first book in the series (I’m not sure if its a trilogy) and what was it with the Sample of the second book.. Oh my God, I was waiting for almost a month to know how Peter reacted to Lara Jean’s letter. (Ok, teenager-mode ON!!) When the book was released in May 2015, I couldnt wait.. I read in every free time I could get – office, shuttle, bed… There was something about a game which I didnt understand at all, but then the book was good. There was one more crush of Lara Jean’s past in this book but all hail Peter/Lara Jean fans..

Both the books were little too young for me but at times Jenny Han’s lines were just plain rocking, I say. Two of my favorites –

You haven’t brought me down. Just the opposite. You’ve brought me out. You gave me my first love story, Peter. Please just don’t let it be over yet.

You must read the entire letter!!

There’s a Korean word my grandma taught me. It’s called Jung. Its the connection between two people that can’t be severed, even when love turns to hate. You still have those old feelings for them, you cant ever completely shake them loose off you; you will always have tenderness in your heart for them.

And the relationship between the Song sisters..it just made me yearn for something like that.

4. Fangirl – Rainbow Rowell

I was a bit skeptical about reading this one. But all the rush from reading Jenny Han pushed me into this. I cannot say I fully enjoyed it. Back when I was in school, Harry Potter was just getting popular and I couldnt understand why all the excitement. I did read the book, but back then I was into thrillers and bloodthirsty novels that Fantasy was out of my league. So that’s exactly I felt once again when I read this book. Cather is an anonymous Fan-fiction writer. She is insecure and dependent on her twin sister Wren who is just the opposite of her in every way. (Catherine – Cath + Wren, see? ) She ADORES her male protagonist and this sort of felt like the HP rage back in school. The book consists of her life in one track and the fan-fiction included in excerpts. Which I totally ignored. Didnt make me go Awww but maybe I’m just getting old.

I started reading Shadow Throne but its not done yet. I’m also reading What Happened to Goodbye by Sarah Dessen – my go-to author – in parallel in iBooks.  I’m not even sure I will be able to complete the challenge.. Ughhh!!
